Cell Service and Coverage

Sprint Coverage Map

How is the sprint coverage map in reference to the others?

This has been a big topic over the last 10 years or so as cell phone usage is at an all time high and home phones are being replaced with all cell devices. The question who has the best service and by service we don’t mean who has the best reps, but instead who has the best coverage. We all are guilty of calling it service, but that’s okay, so I decided to get a few different opinions on the matter from people around the neighborhood and this is what I came up with.

The problem with the sprint coverage map isn’t that It’s all that bad but just that it’s hard to hear in a lot of area and there are additional charges sometimes for different areas that most may not even think about. I think about it just because I vividly remember what was given to me by the sprint rep when I first went there and picked up my first phone. My first phone was definitely one of those zach morris deals, but wow it’s funny how much phone have changed. Nonetheless, back to the sprint coverage map… Every time my wife is up north visiting her parent s I can’t hear her, or at least can only hardly hear her because the service is so fuzzy. When using US Cellular phones, there was never a problem so I guess that’s my two cents.

I heard a rumor that all antennas around the US were actually owned by AT & T. I’m not sure if that’s true or not, because it wouldn’t make sense if everyone is just using AT&T towers, antennas, and satellites. Despite all of that, I have to say there’s been a big change in coverage over the last 5 years. It seems like my sprint coverage map has really been altered in a good way. Whereas before I had issues with sprint and didn’t get coverage in a lot of places, I now get coverage in the places that no one else gets. I wonder if they added more towers or something? The really weird part is that I seem to get a signal even where my i-phone friends don’t. All i-phones are At&t so I really don’t understand how they could be the owners of all the cell phone towers. I would have say my blackberry is what gets me through the day and has great service too. I can’t say enough great things about it.

It’s funny because I know exactly what the last comment was all about. I have had a phone I got from my cousin who was in excel about 6 years ago and now the thing looks ancient. I was never sure if it was just my issues with service or what was going on but it looks like the real villain in all of this is not any of the major networks, but someone else. I don’t know who though. All I know is that when I take my kids to soccer practice I can’t even use my cell phone and it said I could on my sprint coverage map. What would happen if there was a bad storm and I needed to call for someone to pick us up? It makes me feel unsafe and I don’t like that feeling at all.

For the first years out of high school I didn’t use a cell phone at all and only within the last 4 years have I started using one. It’s nothing fancy, but the most important thing is the sprint coverage map. I love everything they’ve done and I can use it anywhere. Currently being a college professor it’s tough to keep in touch with everyone and to have extra time at the end of the day. The unfortunate thing is that when my phone doesn’t work, people don’t learn. You see, I do a lot of teleconferencing with my phone and as I’m a Marketing Professor if these kids don’t learn, they also don’t make money. I want them all to be successful and that’s why I chose the carrier I did.

Being a fisherman certainly has it’s advantages like how I only work 35% or the year and I still make pretty good money on a good season. It also has disadvantages like using my phone has never been a possibility. Not until recently did I learn that the sprint coverage map covers all of the area where I fish. This makes me feel so much safer while I’m out there. I’m not sure how they do it, but it definitely give me a piece of mind that I’m not used to having. More than anything though, it makes my wife, family, and friends feel a lot better about things when I head out to sea for a month or two.  .
